Patient 2, there are four pictures of the left big toenail. The patient is a white female in her 70s, who has used Penlac with no success for 6 months, fungoid tincture and fungoid tincture with a crushed tablet of Lamisil, with no success, as well as a few months of Vicks Vaporub, with some success; however, resistance developed and the nail started to re-infect. The nail was not thickened excessively or distorted indicating that the matrix was still intact. Therefore this was not a totally dystrophic nail. The nail was blackened and loose. Treatment was over a period of 1 1/2 years.
